Meet Anurag Sharma, a 45-year-old man whose quest for better health sparked a journey of transformation and inspiration. Founder and director of an IT company, Anurag also heads a running group CRC (Crossings Runners Club) with 200 active members.
The year was 2014 when he actually learned his lesson through the hard way, how important is for one to be fit. One day when he found his vitals were not good, he fortified himself to do some yoga to get some flexibility but he gave in, then he switched to cycling, and this decision proved out to be a short in the arm, he then scaled down a mammoth distance of 1470 Kms from Delhi to Mumbai cycling with his cycle group Delhi Cyclist.
Later someone asked him to try out cross-training and running along with cycling, Then he tried his luck in running which he found easier, less time-consuming activity and a perfect way of exercise to be fit.
He started from some point just like everyone, initially 5kms used to be like 50 km of run for him, but he persisted and really did wonders, with the motto of his life — Best is yet to come
His favorite mode The Dhoni mode has helped him to stand out from all the runners in the group he heads, and it’s an achievement that he could attract more than 200 people to Crossings Runners Club, which is now one of the leading running groups in Delhi/NCR.
Driven by dedication and fueled by a desire for self-improvement, Anurag’s journey unfolded with remarkable determination. With each step forward, he defied limitations and embraced challenges, his unwavering spirit guiding him towards his ultimate goal.
Now, Anurag stands as a symbol of resilience and perseverance, proving that age is no barrier to greatness. His triumph at the Trans Gran Canaria Spain Trail Run 2024, featuring 6800m elevation, difficult terrain, 11 cut-offs, a 30-hour time limit, and challenging weather conditions including rain, not only showcases his personal achievement but also serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the community at large.
