Alvina Parvez, a young resident of PH4, is a prolific writer. Her interest in writing sparked the day she began reading books & newspapers. With time, an insatiable desire of writing her own stories flourished.
Alvina took up writing as a passion. It’s a means to express herself & it’s a source of solace. Thanks to her father’s encouragement & her uncle’s guidance, she began writing regularly from 7th grade, exploring genres such as global issues, short stories & poetry.
Alvina’s participated in interschool & social bodies essay writing competitions. She’s been recognized for her writing skills & has won several awards like Bronze Prize in Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition; First Prize in Khaitan Fest (Literary Voices); & Essay published by UNESCO & Takhte!
Notably, she’s published her first book ‘A Fistful of Sand’! It’s a fiction revolving around the life of an Indian girl who lived in England after India’s partition.
Besides writing, Alvina fares well in academics & extracurricular activities. For 2022-23, Amity International School presented her with Meritorious Award, Star Performer in Science Award and Best Creative Writer in English Award!
Alvina has also been a part of the Student Council. As a member of her school’s Scottish Band, she will soon compete in a Band Competition at the State level. Moreover, she took part in the International Model United Nations three times, won the Special Mention Award once and the Verbal Commendation Award twice!
