Amrit Paul Arya Sishu Shala, the primary school of Arya Samaj Kailash-Greater Kailash-1, celebrated its 46th Annual Day on February 22 at Brij Mohan Munjal Auditorium. Surinder Kumar Ralli, chairman, Ralli International School, was the chief guest, and Yogesh Munjal, chairman, Munjal Showa, was the guest of honour. The function was graced by Rajender Kumar Verma, president; Arun Bahl, secretary; Vijay Lakhanpal; Amrit Paul; and other senior members of Arya Samaj Antarang Sabha.
The program began with the lighting of a lamp by the guests and the chanting of a prayer by schoolchildren. A number of cultural performances were given by schoolchildren in colourful attire, which included the Bihu dance, a performance on national integration with songs from different states, a dance, and song on the habit of cleanliness, a song on Dayanand Saraswati, life in school, yoga asanas, etc. All performances were conceived, prepared, and choreographed under the guidance of the school teachers.
Kamlesh, headmistress, read out a report on activities of the school towards making them better human beings besides education through various programs for social, spiritual, physical, and mental well-being. Thereafter, guests were invited to give away various prizes and awards to students that included recognition for outstanding performance in various activities. Prizes and certificates were given to the top three students in each class for their excellent academic performance. ABROL Girl Child Scholarship awards were given to the best girl child in each class based on their getting the highest marks in the previous year. Gifts were given to three children for special performance by the Thukral family.
Shri. Ralli, in his speech, appreciated the performances and complimented teachers and students. He explained the importance of a teacher in the life of a child, citing a few incidents from his life. Shri. Munjal spoke about the importance of parents in giving value to children. He commended the teachers and children for a wonderful performance. Shri. Verma spoke about special efforts made to give human values to children. He mentioned alumni of the school having settled abroad after graduating in computer science and not contributing to the school.
Saroj Abrol, in charge of the school, thanked all the guests, invitees, and parents for gracing the occasion and making the annual day function a success. She complimented teachers, support staff, and children for putting together an entertaining and educational performance. The function ended with Shanti Path.
