Durga Puja celebrations were inaugurated by the musical evening of Agomoni Sangeet – Signalling the arrival of Maa Durga. As per ritual and tradition, morning and evening prayers and arti were performed on the days of the festival. Prasad and Bhog were also served on all three days.
Cultural programs were held in the evening after Arti.
Songs by local residents and children, dance performances, and flute and percussion recitals by world-renowned artists – Kartikeya and Tarun Roy were some of the highlights of the festival.
As per Debashish Brahmachari (Member organising committee), inclusivity and collectiveness were the main themes of this year’s Durga puja. These ideas were effectively demonstrated during the Dandiya event, wherein more than 300 residents of all ages, and social, cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds happily participated.
The Durga Puja festivities culminated on 13th October (Dashami) with Boron (Bidding Farewell) and Bishorjon of Maa Durga (Immersion). It was followed by a small get-together in the evening called the Bijoya sammelan.
