Amit Gandotra: A Jewel Of A Friend Lost For Ever

The news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s and VG Siddh-artha’s untimely demises jolted many but when death suddenly snatches a dear friend, the senses refuse to accept it as real! Same is the case of the untimely and shocking death of my friend Amit Gandotra that haunts, not only me but all who knew him!

Amit touched the lives of whoever he came in contact with, due to his helpful nature and vibrant personality. He would be the first one to stand for the society’s cause and extend support, not just to his friends but to everyone!

Amit was one of the most handsome men in our society. He was always immaculately attired, be it early mornings or late nights. He was the epitome of perfection; the only way of doing a task that he knew was to do it perfectly.

It pains me to write about Amit in the past tense as I still cannot come to terms that he is no more amongst us. His spirit and enthusiasm were unparalleled; personally, I learnt a lot from him. He played badminton to win, worked to succeed and partied hard to forge stronger bonds with friends.

Amit’s creativity was impressive; everyone lauded the videos that he made of the contestants of the AOA elections as well as of some well-known residents and uploaded them on a YouTube channel for the residents.

Few know that it was Amit who had planned and managed the technicalities for the Virtual AGM of LBAOA in 2021. The credit for the planning and execution of the AGM on the virtual platform which involved admitting verified members, question answer session, voting etc. goes entirely to him!

Amit was a fun-loving person; one of his talents, known to his very close group of friends, was his skill in mimicry. Amid gatherings of friends, he would entertain us all by mimicking friends and actors.

A graduate from Victoria University, Australia, Amit was a media professional, who formerly worked with Bennett Coleman and Hindustan Times for several years and had recently moved on to becoming the COO of Fashion Design Council of India.

Amit had an impressive career growth and was destined for great heights, but God had other plans. He may not be with us in his physical form, but he shall remain in our hearts and memory as a dutiful and respectful son, a caring brother, a loving husband and a doting father to his precious daughter, a rock-solid support to all LB residents and as a genuinely good friend!
