Really sorry state of our colony where residents are their own enemies.
A massive fire broke out in D -47 which is a showroom of carpets and garments.
Thanks to a builder one side was blocked by the builder jhuggis and the other by a resident encroaching the back lane with cement structure and flower pots which made the fire tender difficult to enter the back lane.
These back lanes were basically made as service lanes but now they are dumping grounds for malba and discarded items they don’t want in their house.
On the other hand the cars are parked in such a way that they block the entry and when emergency comes it is a big exercise to move them from the way.
This time if the two entries were free from encroachments two fire tenders would have easily entered.

No use just lamenting . The back lanes must b cleared of all encroachments . Period ! And service lanes kept free of all parking etc . The Colony reps with the police cd impose hefty penalties on such encroachments including on owners of cars who park in service lanes ! Indeed even on double parking on the main Rds ! Some procedure of clicking a pix and sending it to authorities shd b devised . All residents shd be informed about this . They are yr eyes and ears !
