Like every year, the All-India Garden Association (AIKGA) annual fruit, vegetable, and flower show was held this year on 2nd and 3rd March 2024 at the Gulmohar Park Club grounds. The show was a great success with over 200 participants displaying their pots from all over Delhi and NCR. Fruits, vegetables, and flowers grown in pots by the participants were on display. Four mini gardens created at the venue were also on display.
From Vasant Vihar, Shanti Niketan, and Anand Niketa, four residents participated in the various competitive display categories as follows:
Radhika took part in ‘Small Garden’ category and ‘Flowers in Pots’ section and walked away wining in both the categories.
Asha Bhatnagar and Sulu Mathews participated in ‘Small Garden’ category and bagged the prizes in this category. Asha Bhatnagar also won prize in the ‘Flowers in Pots’ section. Sulu Mathew displayed her ikebana flower arrangement which was well appreciated by the visitors.
Indira Dayal won two prizes – one in the ‘Terrace Garden’ category and the other in ‘Flowers in Pots’ section.
Our two parks in Vasant Vihar – one in E-block and the other in D-block were adjudged as the best maintained parks. D-block received the first prize while E-block received the second prize. Congratulations to all the winners. Well done. Keep it up! (Rashmi Gupta is the Vice President of AIKGA)
