As per a message received from Anil Aeron on 16th Nov, all construction activities are stopped in the sector. One or two homeowners have tried defying orders despite guards asking them to stop. According to newspaper reports, the UP Pollution Control Board recently fined a house in the sector Rs 30,000/— for violating GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) guidelines. While the said house has not been identified, it is rumoured that the house might be one where construction activity is underway. The Pollution Control Board has clarified that such activities will be monitored and strict action will be taken against those causing pollution. It is expected that the NOIDA Authority will issue challans to the erring builders. No construction material will be permitted inside the sector, and guards at all gates will ensure the same. Residents have been requested to report immediately if they find any movement of construction materials or construction activities in the sector. It’s a big relief, as residents are very concerned that even after the ban; generators are being used regularly for such construction activities.
