Airtel Changing Copper Wires to Fibre

Recently one saw Airtel employees going around the sector, climbing poles and changing the wires. It turned out that Airtel is upgrading its existing broadband connections of copper wire to fibre optic cable. Once the wires are changed it has been learnt that fibre optic cables are more reliable than traditional copper cables, it also allows for faster speeds. This would result in faster download speeds, a smoother and higher quality streaming experience, better gaming and much more. The Wi-Fi router is also replaced and one hopes that the upgraded service should help minimise any ‘dead zones’ in the house. This is being done free of cost and is in line with Airtel’s announcement in Feb 2021.
