Members of Unit 42 met on 29th November at MP Hall, Power Grid, Sector 43, Gurgaon.
All members were welcomed and the speaker of the month, Ms. Shyama Balbir ji was introduced by Convener Anita Wagh.
Shyama ji is the first Master of O ‘Hara school of Ikebana and Bonsai. A Report on Udyan Mela which was held in October was read by Reena Gupta. The mela was a huge success and saw many visitors. Active participation by the members who volunteered resulted in no profit, no loss balance. Thus reflecting excellent management skills.
Volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the Udhyan Mela a success were felicitated by Shyama ji. The Volunteers were: Alka kanwar, Charu, Sonaja, Neha Goel, Sadhana, Jasbir, Anita Tehlan, Aarti Avalash, Ruchika, Anjani Bhushan, Sonia kakkar, Susan and Rajma ji.
Shyama ji delivered an insightful lecture on Bonsai Gardening and its various techniques. This time of the year is dormant for Bonsai, therefore no technique was demonstrated. The session concluded with discussion on general gardening tips and practices.
Members actively participated in the Q&A session.
The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Sujata Jain.
