Unit 42 met for the monthly meeting on the 2nd of January 2025 at the residence of Padmini ji in Palam Vihar. Padmini ji is the convenor of Unit 40, she has a beautiful collection of plants and is an avid gardener.
A brief introduction of Padmini ji by Anita Wagh, convenor of Unit 42 and Sujata Jain joined by twenty members of the unit set the meeting rolling.
Padmini ji proved to be an excellent host and speaker as she deeply explained the utilisation of space in the garden. She gave tips on reuse, recycle and reducing waste and how we can prevent the landfills by reducing waste.
She emphasized on the placement of plants, which is a very important factor for the growth and health of a plant. Protecting the plants from heatwaves as well as breeze is also a very important factor which one must keep in mind while placing the plants.
Members actively participated in asking questions and clearing doubts which Padmini ji very patiently answered. The visit to her terrace was a sight to behold, all the seasonal flowers and plants stole the heart of members.
Padmini ji served kavah as a welcome drink which was welcomed by all on a cold morning. Snacks and tea were served after the talk and terrace visit.
Everyone was excited to meet and start the New Year with a warm hospitality and warmth of Padmini Ji’s house. Some of the members purchased exotic plants from her. The exchange of tips and gardening talks kept the members engaged throughout the afternoon.
