Now mostly members are growing in pots as the weather has become very unpredictable. As we are growing for our own consumption we are mainly using organically prepared soil. Use manure which should be well rotted. Use one third used soil from your old pots, mix home composted manure for vermicompost /any other compost available. Mix enzymes prepared by you using fruit and vegetable peels with jaggery and lemon juice. You can spray it all over your garden. You must know what you can grow in sun or shade or semi shaded plants. All your greens need a semi shaded area as they scorch very easily. Use white net or put under a ledge of your house.
There are various methods used now. You can try all these methods but not everything together. Some times use one method for one season then use something else for the next. Everyone can not get special manure from Barsana or some other place but can make humic acid using chhachh or milk in a copper pot for 72 hours. You can get reasonably good amounts of vegetables for your use.
For lemon and other similar vegetables use cow dung along with ashes for potash, washing water of dal, rice and vegetables for phosphorus and green leaves etc.for nitrogen.
