AIKGA Monthly Meet Held At A1 Park

We our owe monthly meetings at members homes where each one gets a chance to see different terrace gardens or lawns maintained by different members . This motivates the new members to develop their own kitchen gardens at home. This month we did not keep a lecture because the members had to give in their entries for the upcoming flower shower on the 2nd and 3 rd March 2024. The meeting was kept at the A1 small park which is beautifully maintained by the RWA. All ladies reached on time and we distributed the entry forms to them explaining each and every category section wise. Many members opted to fill forms for their terrace gardens and few who have small gardens at their home filled up the forms for the competition in the small Lawn category. Time is given to all to prepare their gardens which are judged by a panel of our expert horticulturists/ senior members of the association. Marks are given on the basis of few criteria like cleanliness, health of the plants, lay out of the garden, variety of plants, vegetables, fruit trees, herbs , hanging baskets etc and any other special features that has been creatively included in the garden. The members are also supposed to send their plants in the various categories to the show which are then displayed at the flower show and their judging is also done on the first day of the show. The winners get special prizes on the final day of the garden show. After all the formalities were over we had our customary get together and celebration. Hot tea, samosas and Gulab jamuns were served and also veg cutlets, paneer tikka, sweets, moongfali and Gajjak were served to so. All had a gala time and gup shup over hot tea cups in the cool winter afternoon. A big thank you to Vikram Tokas for arranging chairs and tables for us. I just had to make one phone call to him and he responded quickly as always. Any work given to him or any request made he never  disappoints. Such helping and supporting people are very few in the society.
