Unit 39 to come out with its first Newsletter
The Annual General Meeting of AIKGA was held on 13th May at Gulmohar Club, New Delhi. Members from various units joined in person, many joined online through the zoom platform.
Secretary Bela Gupta opened the meeting by sharing the MOM of AGM of the last two years. A message from patron K L Chadha was shared in his absence. President Usha Marwah addressed the gathering. Chitra Kiriji presented the balance sheet for the last year. Bela Gupta gave a vote of thanks.
Gurugram Unit 39 has decided to come out with its quarterly Newsletter. Inspired by gardening enthusiasts and their skills, a Newsletter and an annual calendar exclusively by the unit – for the unit.
The Newsletter will be published digitally, once every season, 4 editions in a year. The Convenors and Mentors of Unit 39 along with volunteers will be covering the newsletter. Ila Sharma, Beena Jaikrishnan and Poornima Savargaonkar along with Mentors – Hema Ganapati and Renu Sood will look into the articles edited and written by Mona Bhardwaj, Priya V K Singh and Nandita Mahajan.
The monthly meeting was held on 19 May. The topic was the Sourcing of modern urban gardening materials, conducted by Poornima Savargaonkar. She covered various topics like – What is perlite. Should I use vermiculite? Can I put thikri in plastic pots and fibre pots? Are grow bags good to grow plants?
All queries were answered patiently. Members were excited to touch and feel the samples which were kept to make the topic more interesting and understandable.
