Members make it a ‘Mega’ event to remember
The Annual flower show by AIKGA -2025 was a big success as each and every member of all the units contributed their bit to make it a mega event. The show was held on the 8th and 9th March at the lush green grounds of the Gulmohar Club in the Gulmohar Park colony of South Delhi! The theme this year was SAVE LIFE, SAVE EARTH.
Pre preparations like setting up the stalls, landscaping, entries of the competition and other vendors who had brought their stuff to sell, were done a day before, on the 7th of March, one day before the Inauguration of the show.
This year, the Chief guest was Dr P Srinivas who is a Principal scientist at The ICAR-IIHR, Bhubaneswar, who inaugurated the show. Mr Srinivas appreciated the hard work put in by the participants and had all praises for the AIKGA governing body.
He even gave his valuable inputs as to how he can help grow the organisation in a better way. He also launched our souvenir which is one of its kind, having articles from the stalwarts, who are either environmentalists or agriculturists. This souvenir was an instant hit amongst the garden enthusiasts.
There were 20 or more categories where the members showcased their plants for the judges to award the first and second prizes for the same. Plants like herbs, bonsais, vegetables, bulbous plants, fruiting plants etc…just to name a few.
There were a good number of footfalls as the weather was by our side and many plant lovers bought seeds, plants, pots, soil mix, fertilizers and other gardening essentials.
In this blooming season the atmosphere was charged with happiness, colours and excitement all around and each and every member left no stone unturned in making the flower show a mega success.
AIKGA is determined to educate people to save mother earth, plant more trees, grow one’s own food and manage their own waste. After all plants and trees are our life and we all owe it to mother nature to conserve our resources including water, air and our trees.
