The All-India Kitchen Garden Association (AIKGA) Flower Fruit & Vegetable Show was held at Gulmohar Club Grounds on 7-8 March, 2025. The theme was “Save Earth Save Life”.

The show received wide participation from members spread over 24 units across Delhi-NCR and competition across categories was stiff. There were many varieties of plants, vegetables and fruits spread in 21 sections including landscaping, fruit trees, vegetables, flowers in pots. Ornamental plants, cacti and succulents, tray gardens, bottle gardens, water garden, fresh fruits, vegetables and flower arrangements, plants, roses, hanging baskets were also on display.

The GKII unit struck gold with an overwhelming performance and an array of prizes by its members. Mrs Geeta Atreya won 6 prizes in succulent and cacti category. Mrs Sonali Goplani won prizes for her flowers in pots (impatiens and begonia). Food preservation was another category where our famous chef from GK2, Mrs Swati Gupta Jain, won a prize for her pizza sauce. She won another prize on her cut salads section as well.

This time, apart from children’s painting competition, a hands-on pot plantation training was provided to children and they happily carried their pots home. There was a workshop on hands down terrarium by Mrs Simmi Khanna. It was a very interesting workshop and all participants enjoyed the workshop.

AIKGA promotes organic (javic) gardening and its popular training program for gardening covers use of organic methods of preparing bio enzymes and organic insecticides for plant fertilization and growth.

Lot of hard work was put in by members of AIKGA and the flower show, which was so vibrant and colourful, was a huge success.
