The Nirvana family is blessed to have a great group of service people who make a living amongst our tree-filled parks such a pleasure. During Diwali, the Aspen Greens and Birch Court (AGBC) family wanted to do something more for security, cleaning MCG ladies, electricians, and plum-bers to add a special shine to their festive season. So, a request for personal contributions went out through the WhatsApp group and few residents agreed to be the collection points and everything was set in motion.
Finally one day before Diwali with the list of those who had given service to AGBC block in hand the residents were all invited to come to the large Aspen Greens Park for the joyous ceremony of spreading Diwali cheer. 5 elderly long-time resident ladies were specially invited to hand the money over personally to each person, with their blessings. A team sat together and counted, and recounted the money collected and made neat little bundles of Rs 2500, each wrapped in the large green leaves which had fallen from the nearby tree. The 95 personnel on the list had been invited and they were all queueing up. There was a festive “feel good” vibe and smiles all around.
Then the gifting ceremony started and the look of joy on the faces of those accepting was very moving. Each Dadiji had special blessings to share as they shared this special bounty with each person. But for those overseeing it there seemed to be more MCG ladies and personnel than on the list…but it seemed heartless to turn some of them away. So even when the last Diwali cheer money was given, those residents present emptied out their wallets so that no one left empty-handed. Finally, the ceremony ended on a high and everyone was cheering and feeling good….but there were still some night duty personnel who were left.
Another request went out..and our residents rose to the occasion. Finally, we collected enough so that each person got their Diwali Cheer and with their smiles, we celebrated Diwali in the real sense.
Thank you Nirvana family.
