GK2 Residents Transform Io Toilets
The world is her canvas- yes…Urmila Yadav, painter, artist and a woman of many talents, resident of S-445, proved this, when she and her artist friends went and transformed the plain looking, eco-friendly Bio Toilet of Tikona Park, GK 2, magically into a colourful and lively work of art!
“As I walked in the Tikona Park one morning,” quips Urmila, “the bio toilet seemed quite dull and boring. In some unusual way, it kind of urged me to dress it up. Then I got a bright idea. Very grateful for having been blessed by God and my community, I decided to give back to society.” So, she, along with her artist group, which consists of Gaurav Sir and Anoushka, (together they run their studio by the name ARTERIUM on the first floor of S-445) spoke to several senior citizens and friends and requested them to try their hand at painting the bio toilet, thus making them feel useful and helping them have fun at the same time.
In no time, outlines were drawn by the expert artists while senior citizens and friends, who had gathered in large numbers, early morning, brought it alive by adding colours, amidst much cheer and laughter.
Inspired by Mother Nature, the front part is brightly adorned with cute boy and girl figures indicating Male and Female toilets. The second wall has a bunch of colourful balloons, giving a beautiful background for you to take selfies and make memories. Yet another wall has a butterfly in flight, signifying Freedom… from boredom…so I thought. Painting is a great way of giving wings to your imagination. In case you are feeling low, bored, a little free- try your hand at painting! We all have an artist within us, lost in this fast track world. “Awaken the artist within you”, as Urmila says.
Thank you TEAM ARTERIUM for adding so much colour and joy to Tikona Park.
