The members of the Gulmohar Centre and residents of Gulmohar Park are a lucky lot. Time and again, they, their families, and friends experience several unique events through the year. Whether it’s sports, winter lunches, cultural year and I am a newprogrammes or festivals, there’s an air of festivity at every event. The Managing Committee. Of the Gulmohar Centre makes sure that every visitor, young and old, enjoys herself or himself thoroughly, and looks forward to the next one.
October this year has been no different. The first weekend was packed, starting with a special vaccination camp for influenza and pneumonia organised in association with the Gulmohar Journalists Senior Citizens Forum that saw close to two hundred and thirty people getting vaccinated.
The weekend had a large number of Nature lovers thronging the sports ground for the much loved and highly popular ‘ Udyan Mela,’ organised by Unit One of the AIKGA in association with the Gulmohar Centre. Plants of various hues and varieties were on display and sale, as were garden accessories, craft items, and tasty treats from the Centre’s. kitchen.
The Gulmohar Centre also celebrated a very special day: its Founders Day on Saturday, the 5th October. A number of special invitees comprising highly respected senior founder members were felicitated, and they joined more than two hundred and fifty members and their families at the dinner. Conversations and happy moments flowed for more than three hours.
The evening of the 6th reverberated with the rhythmic beats of dandiya and garba at the sports ground, with close to a hundred dancers, young and old, in eye-catching costumes moving as one, a mesmerizing sight to behold! A truly delectable spread of mouth-watering dishes, from street food to dishes from the Centre’s menu added to the festive spirit. What an exciting start to October! With Diwali around the corner, it’ll only get better.
