For a few weeks, indoor and outdoor sports saw more than a hundred eager, spirited participants, from the very young to seniors, turn up and give it their all. It did not matter whether they came first or last, what mattered to each was the joy of just turning up, being with their friends and family, and running each race with a spirit of friendship with a ‘tadka’ of competition sprinkled to the mix.
And this camaraderie was also seen when athletics took centre stage on a glorious Sunday morning. On a beautifully laid out track on the 3-acre ground adjacent to the Gulmohar Centre, with experienced professionals overseeing the events, runners and walkers across age groups made it an exciting two hours of high octane action, and it was truly heartening to see the level of enthusiasm in everyone.
