The residents of Sector 100 are immensely happy to learn that ACP Rajneesh Verma of Gautam Budh Nagar Commissionerate, Noida Zone, has been awarded the DGP commendation mark. This is a much-deserved recognition that has been bestowed upon ACP Verma ji as he has always been helpful when the residents needed help in what was within his jurisdiction.
We decided to take a few moments from his busy schedule and talk to him to know him even better:
Q. In recent times, one comes across smarter, fitter, more efficient and empathetic police officers. Even the women folk no longer fear going to the police station. What has brought about this welcome change?
ACP Verma answers, “It is not a change that happened suddenly; it has been a gradual change over some years. This change has taken place in terms of logistics provided to the police force, new technology which is being used by us, periodic training to upgrade our methodology and skills.
These changes have encouraged the public to reach out to the police and vice versa.”
Q. Sir, what keeps you motivated to serve the people despite all the criticism and negative publicity that the police department often gets?
ACP Verma replies, “There is criticism in all departments and in society at large. We take it not as criticism but feedback which helps us to improve our performance. I think some amount of criticism is good and motivates you to excel in your work. One should be self-motivated.
Not only do we get criticism but also praise for our good performance. This award that I received today has showered so much of love and blessings on me by all residents of Noida like you.Criticism for our laxity and appreciation for our good deeds go hand in hand.
We are happy to serve our citizens in all circumstances.”
Q. The police officers toil when all civilians are enjoying festivals or holidays. What do you like to do to unwind after a busy day?
ACP Verma responds, “It gives us immense self-satisfaction when we see civilians enjoying their festival safely and happily. It is our utmost duty to serve the public first. Our family and seniors play a vital role in keeping our motivation and morale high at all times.”
Q. One message that you would like to give to us.
ACP Verma answers, “My message is to have faith in the police. We work to the best of our potential in the best possible benefit of public. We all are the same: normal human beings. The only difference is our uniform.I myself work very hard to improve the police reach to the public.
The public must have faith in us; we are there to serve them!”
