All our Sushant Lok parks were designed years ago with the access to enter through a rotating entryway or a narrow passage, it has never been changed or replanned to allow entry for wheelchair-bound or kids tricycles to enter.
It is time we request access gates be changed so that wheelchairs can get an uninterrupted and smooth ramp entry from ground level into the park. The SLRWA should survey the marks to assess requirements in each area so that ramp access can be provided in all parks in a planned and phased manner.
Recently, the RWA in DLF Phase 2 has taken up this initiative in their colony after residents wrote to them and have now planned to construct ramps in parks starting with P Block.
There is also a lack of access for the mobility of the physically challenged at the Vyapar Kendra Market. The market is designed with stairs going up and down to reach the inner atrium area, and anyone with mobility challenges cannot reach the atrium shops due to the lack of any ramp in the whole market.
This may further need to be taken up as a separate concern for a revamp of access areas in the market.
