All our DLF Phase 2 parks were designed years ago with the access to enter through a rotating entryway or a narrow passage, it has never been changed or replanned to allow entry for wheelchair-bound or kids tricycles to enter.
Recently Q block residents wrote a letter to DLF office and RWA office requesting the access gates to be changed so that wheelchairs can get an uninterrupted and smooth ramp entry from ground level into the park.
A similar issue was shared by residents from other areas as well and RWA took a survey to access requirements in each area so that these ramp access can be provided in all parks in a planned and phased manner.
After RWAs took up the matter, DLF agreed to upgrade the entry-way into the park with a gated ramp. To begin with, three parks at P-6, M-13 & K16 will be taken on priority and henceforth other parks will also be renovated for the required changes.
Residents have also been mentioning the lack of access for the mobility of the physically challenged at the central arcade market.
The market is designed with stairs going up and down to reach the inner atrium area, and anyone with mobility challenges cannot reach the atrium shops or the upper floors due to the lack of any ramp or any elevators in the whole market.
This may further need to be taken up as a separate concern for a revamp of access areas in the market.
