On Saturday, 19 November, at AVCC (Arun Vihar Community Centre), Sec 37, Noida, Abhivyakti Cultural Forum presented a comedy play ‘Sapne Suhane’, a Katha Collage. Abha Atray is the founder of this Abhivyakti Cultural Forum. It was staged at 4.00 pm and got over at 5.30 pm.

The play was a compilation of 3 short, one act comedy plays. The three plays were ‘Fish Curry Vs Butter Chicken’, Yamraj Ka Darbar’ and ‘Sapne Suhane’. There were 20 ladies who participated in these 3 plays. The play was written and directed by Abha Atray, resident of E – 617, Ram Vihar, Sec 30, Noida. All the 3 plays were very entertaining and at the same time each had a message behind it.

The first play, ‘Fish Curry Vs Butter Chicken’, was a comedy play about a pregnant girl dealing with her Punjabi mother and Bengali mother in law. Ultimately instead of helping and looking after the girl, the mothers were very diplomatically sent back to their respective husbands by the young couple. The Punjabi and Bengali language combination was very jovial which made the whole play very hilarious.

The second play, ‘Yamraj Ka Darbar’ had an imagination story. Both Yamraj and Dundpal were very fond of ladies and also flirted with them. Ladies enacted as vegetable seller, sanyasan, doctor, politician, lawyer, transgender and model. Yamraj and Dundpal not only punished them for the sins committed on this Earth, but also had an enjoyable time with them.

‘Sapne Suhane’ was a story of 5 college friends who meet after 30 years and remember the good old college days. The play conveyed the message that age is no bar. It is just a number and one should enjoy life at whatever age we are.

The crowd turned up in large numbers and were all praise for Mrs Atray. In the cast, all the twenty ladies were non professionals and home makers. They worked very hard to put up the show. They came from Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad. Mrs Atray was one in all. She was the producer, director, script writer and also an actor in the plays.

The audience loved every bit of the show. We have no words to say how much one enjoyed. It was outstanding and everything we had hoped for. Mrs Atray never runs out of ideas. The expectation with each show becomes very high because each show is better than the last. The core idea, behind the play was not to take life too seriously but to enjoy and have fun.

Another big show is in the pipe line. Mrs Atray has already started working on it. This new venture will be staged in Jan. 2023. Hard work pays off and Mrs Atray has proved it. We are sure this show will also be a great hit and we wish Mrs Atray All The Best in her future endeavour.
