On 10 March a meeting with Atishi and her team was organized with the residents. Unfortunately, Ms Atishi could not attend as she had to be at another unplanned crisis location. However, she was represented by Ms Indu and her other office team members.
It was encouraging to see a good attendance of residents who were eager to put forth their questions.
The AAP representatives informed the audience that the road work resurfacing has started from scratch (Mathura Road to Western Avenue/ full Western Avenue/ part of F block road).
Residents raised the following important issues in the meeting:
1. The complete breakdown of our sewer system
2. The major anomalies of the rain water drain
3. The illegal encroachments/ hawkers around our colony
4. The need for an underground wiring system for the colony
5. Facilities for children in the several parks we have in our colony.
6. The lack of clean drinking water and the need of relaying of water supply pipes in certain blocks.
7. The requirement of police action for stopping the colony being used as a thoroughfare and an illegal parking space for their cars.
A resident has suggested that all these issues need to be addressed but we need to put a system in place to address this as a group. It is suggested to all that the issues faced around your residents be written and provided at our guard room at gate 1. Evidence / attachments / photos with the application would add value.
We will consolidate all applications and after categorisation we will write to the minister with these letters/ photos as evidence and as a weight to our requirement. We all know that one off request may not get much attention.
I will request all to take out time and write about their difficulties they are facing around their houses and provide the same at the earliest. We will do our best to see your requirement/s gets the attention it deserves.
