To help conserve our environment and nature, a plantation drive was organised by residents of sector 61. The plantation drive was held in the play ground park located at the gol chakkar of the sector. Residents of the sector from independent houses and many societies like Prateek Fedora, Royal Tower, Royale Garden, Saket Dham, Indraprastha Villa etc took part in the plantation drive. Many fruit bearing sapling of Guava were planted in the park by the residents.
At this juncture I would also like to mention that every year we hold such drives and very enthusiastically plants a number of trees and saplings for the good of our environment but in the days to follow both the authorities and residents become lax in taking care of these saplings and as a result many of them die. Let’s make it a point to also look after these saplings once they are planted. Each resident can adopt the sapling that they planted and periodically look after it. This way the trees will have more chance of surviving the forces of nature and also who knows in the future you may have a nice story to tell your kids and grandkids sitting under the shade of the very tree you planted.
