A Young Mother Speaks

Shweta Jha (A- 109) shares her experience of Sec 26

Besides so many senior citizens and facilities for them, the sector has many young mothers too. Their needs are equally important, and their views carry a lot of weight. We interviewed one such vibrant one, Shweta Jha of A Block. She readily answered the following questions we put across:

When did you come to live in Sector 26?

I relocated to Noida in 2017.

What was your first impression of the sector and your neighbours?

What I appreciated most about the sector was its lush greenery and abundance of parks. Initially, my interaction with neighbours was quite limited, but we built it on with time.

What do you do?

I am a primary teacher at The British School.

When did you have your 1st baby?

I welcomed my baby in 2024.

How did you manage a job and babysitting?

A working mother is truly never off duty! Balancing work and family life has been challenging, but I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of my in-laws, husband, and parents. Their help has made this rollercoaster journey of being a new working mother much smoother.

What facilities are you happy with, and what more would you like?

I am very satisfied with the clean surroundings, security measures, green parks, and recreational facilities. The waste management and uninterrupted water and electricity supply have also been commendable. The lapses, if any, are due to the growing population, more construction, and an increase in cars. Besides a lack of civic sense in a few.

Do you feel the sector has progressed in the infrastructure, like services, roads, pruning of trees, safety, etc.? Any suggestions? The younger generation must put forward fresh ideas and solutions to get the sector moving. Encouraging more community engagement activities for adults and kids would also strengthen our bond as residents and create a more vibrant living environment for children. Senior citizens need to have regular activities for mental and physical wellbeing.
