A World-Class Eye Care Centre Set Up In Gk1

Rotary Delhi South East District under its Global Grant Project has contributed ten high tech. equipment costing over one crore, for setting up of Drishti Eye Care Centre at Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Medical Centre, Arya Samaj Kailash- Greater Kailash-1.The Centre was inaugurated on August 1in Brij Mohan Munjal Vedic Centre Auditorium. The chief guest of the event was Shikha Rai, councilor, MCD, Greater Kailash-1.

Among the senior Rotarians present at the event were Dr Mahesh Trikha, DG, Dr Ravinder Gugnani, DGE, Rajesh Aggarwal, President and Donors Arun Gupta, Anil Goel, V.P. Jain, Surender Gupta and Lalit Mohan Duggal. Representing Maharishi Dayanand Charitable Medical Centre were Yogesh Munjal, patron, Rajender Kumar Verma, president, Arun Bahl, secretary, Amar Singh Pahal, treasurer, Narendra Wadhwa, in charge medical centre and Dr Deepa Kapoor, ophthalmologist.

The event began with welcoming and honoring of all the dignitaries, followed by a presentation by Dr Binita VermaTyagi, consultant ophthalmology, who described the features and applications of various equipments installed at the newly inaugurated centre.

Following Equipments have been installed at the Centre:

• Automated Lensometer – To verify eyesight prescription

• SLIT Lamp (Biomicroscope ) – For magnified view of eye

• Auto Kerato Refractometer – Measures curvature of corneal surface

• Tonometry with Pachymetry – Measures Eye Pressure for Glaucoma/ Thickness of Cornea

• Indirect Ophthalmoscope – Detects Peripheral Retnal Diseases

• Fundus Camera – Captures images of Retina, Optic nerve, optic blood vessels

• Optical Coherence Tomography – Testing of different layers of Retina

• Green Laser – For Diabetic Retinopathy

• Visual Field Analyzer – For Diagnosis of Glaucoma and brain lesions

• Phacoemulsification Machine- Cataract Surgery
