Kartik Puja at Gauri Shanker Mandir: The community gathered at the Gauri Shanker Mandir for Kartik Puja, immersing themselves in devotion and rituals from October 28th to November
27th. Bathing early in the morning, participants listened to sacred tales of Kartik Maas, fostering a spiritual ambience.
Karwa Chauth Pooja by New Punjabi Mahasabha
The New Punjabi Mahasabha orchestrated a beautiful Karwa Chauth Pooja at Gauri Shanker Mandir on November 1st, drawing numerous women to partake in this traditional ceremony of love and fasting.
Mehandi Extravaganza in J and Q Block Parks: Vipin Yadav and Jyotsna Yadav curated a delightful Mehandi event in the J and Q Block parks on October 31st and November 1st. Students from the Government Girls School showcased their skills by applying Mehandi, offering their services for free. Enthusiastic women from the community flocked to the park, adorning their hands with beautiful designs. Some extended their gratitude with a small offering of ‘Shagun.’
Simultaneously, the Nishwarth Seva Foundation hosted another Mehndi session at K 11 Park, showcasing the talents of girls trained by this noble NGO, and promoting skill development and community engagement.
Diwali Mela by RWA, Nishwarth Seva Foundation, and Mitti ki Khusbu
A grand Diwali Mela unfolded through the collaborative efforts of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA), Nishwarth Seva Foundation, and Mitti ki Khusbu organization on November 4th. Stalls adorned with an array of goods – from food to decorative items, Diwali embellishments, clothes, and jewellery – greeted visitors. The event received a mixed response, but numerous people graced it with their presence, adding to the festivity.
Goverdhan Pooja and Bhandara were organised in Gauri Shankar Mandir on 14 November.
Navmi: Sending Gauri Shanker Mandir’s Rajj to Ayodhya and Sunder Kand
On Navmi, the auspicious soil (Rajj) from Gauri Shanker Mandir was dispatched to Ayodhya by Ram Dudani and his team. Combined with the Rajj from Ram Mandir, it received blessings from Champat Rai ji, making it profoundly sanctified. The return of the Rajj to the Mandir was a jubilant affair. Later, Veenu Kalra and Puri Shyam Sakhi Mandal organized a soul-stirring Sunder Kand recitation, infusing spiritual resonance into the community. The revered Ayodhya Rajj, believed to be sacred, was taken by many devotees in small containers to grace their home altars.
Tulsi Vivah was organised by Gauri Shankar Mandir Samiti on 23 November, Devuthani Ekadashi. On this day, people organised Maa Tulsi’s vivah with Shaligram ji (Lord Vishnu’s incarnation). It was followed by the Bhandara.
The events in DLF Phase 2 celebrated tradition, spirituality, community involvement, and unity, creating cherished memories for its residents.
