Residents struggle due to neglected sector entrance
The entryway of a sector creates the first impression for both residents and visitors. Unfortunately, the entrance to Sector-50 – from Kothari School side – presents a stark contrast to the welcome gesture. With haphazardly dumped poles, scattered debris from roadside vendors, and an unkempt roadside, the sight is anything but welcoming.
Challenges Faced by Residents
For sector residents, the road leading up Kothari school service lane is a source of frustration. While there is a big signage announcing “Welcome to Sector 50”, the run-up doesn’t feel welcoming. The long poles jutting out on the road just near the U-turn pose a risk to pedestrians and vehicles alike, leading to traffic congestion and potential accidents.

The scattered debris mars the aesthetics, and accumulated trash raises health concerns as it creates unsanitary conditions. The single-lane road is insufficient for the traffic. The stench emitting from the waste plant/drain adds to the woes.
Negative Impact on the Community
First-time visitors, delivery personnel, and potential homebuyers form an impression based on the entrance, affecting the sector’s reputation. Additionally, the lack of greenery and proper infrastructure diminishes the charm of the area, making it less desirable. Those living in the sector also have a right to a smooth and cheerful entrance to their neighborhood.
Solutions for a Better Entrance
A few steps can transform the entrance into a welcoming gateway. First, local authorities must take immediate action to clear obstructions and remove waste. Implementing a beautification project with green landscaping, proper signage, and well-paved roads can make a lasting difference. Adding streetlights and pedestrian pathways will enhance safety, and an initiative for cleanliness and upkeep can ensure long-term sustainability.
A well-maintained entrance is more than just a visual upgrade — it reflects the pride and well-being of the community. By taking proactive steps, residents and authorities can work together to create an inviting, pleasant, and hazard-free gateway to their homes.
