Sunshine NGO is a known name in AOH. If you need an introduction – the NGO works for underprivileged students’ education & residents contribute to this cause. The funds collected
from the raddi collection are used for children’s education. The NGO also gets donations from good Samaritans.
Recently, the Board results were declared. Kids brought laurels to their mentors (specially Ms. Rosy) and gurus at Sunshine.
Suhani Shrivas secured wonderful grades in 10th. “My inspiration is my elder brother who is pursuing graduation from IGNOU along with a job.” She aims to pursue engineering at IIT. “I work hard to make my teachers and my family proud of me.”
The Gautam Brothers, Vansh & Yash, have scored excellent grades in 12th. Vansh wishes to pursue engineering from IIT. “I’m eligible for NIIT admissions but am targeting JEE advance.” Yash dreams of becoming a ‘neurosurgeon’. “I’m well informed about the difficult journey ahead but am convinced I’ll prefix ‘Dr.’ to my name one day.”
During my conversation with these children, they referred to making the best use of technology & obtaining free online coaching from an Indian educational company.
Sujal Sharma, another bright student supported by Sunshine NGO, wants to be an Air Force pilot. “I want to take up a government job to secure a bright future for myself and my family.”
All these kids come from humble backgrounds. The beauty is that they are content & are not distracted by the materialistic pleasures around. They are focused on meeting their ambitions. They have a fire in their belly. Their confidence exudes the ‘will to achieve’.
Our little contributions to Sunshine NGO help them support more Suhanis, Vanshs, Yashs and Sujals. Through this article, I hope to encourage more Hamletians to come forward and support the educational journey of deserving children!
Note: I’ve refrained from quoting their %ages as marks alone do not define a child’s intelligence.
