“It gets better: there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. It may take one day; it may take ten years. But one day, you will find happiness if you manifest it. Put that energy out, and it’ll come back.”
The well-known American rapper Lil Xan wouldn’t have known that his quote above would prove to be the divine afflatus for the indefatigable Supertech RWA fighting against the artifice of mighty powers, who left no stone unturned in hobnobbing at the corridors of power using brazen excuses to save the monstrous towers from being razed to the ground. But that was not to be and the truth finally triumphed at the day of reckoning for the stealthily built symbols of corruption when the twin towers that once seemed to be a never-ending nemesis for the neighborhood residents, were decimated and bulldozed to the ground.
The twin beasts are gone; the beauty replacing them is now there forever!!
Thankfully the towers of misery are in the annals of history now. The debris cleaning has also finally come to an end after yet another saga of endless delays. But the rewards that the residents of Towers 6A, 7, 8 and 9 in ATS Village are enjoying, after all the travails, is worth the wait. These are the towers that bore the maximum brunt of the felonious and contentious idea of constructing the ill-fated towers. The predicament of the residents in these towers continued unabated over 17 years through the entire cycle of construction, stay and status quo, preparation for demolition and the finally the cleaning of tons of debris.
A cup of tea on a hair down day used to be nightmare for the residents; but now one can relish the flavor of tea in the balconies with a distant panoramic view of the Noida skyline. The ugly sight of the two demons that have been killed by the grit and determination of those on the side of truth has been replaced by the sight of an open uncluttered space with an invigorating aroma of fresh air. The dingy surroundings with musty sickening smell have now made way for fresh cool breeze whooshing past the balconies. It appears that the heavens too are gaga over the makeover and have opened up with Gods showering their bountiful as the weather too has been harmonizing the residents’ beat to beat by being moderate and pleasantly surprising this summer.
The night skyline is a pleasure to watch as one can see the twinkling lights of Skymark, Supernova. ATS Knightsbridge and other famed city skyscrapers stamping their authority over the tiny vehicles plying on the expressway right from the comforts of their homes. Much the same way as Kashmir’s beauty remained elusive to tourists until the end of terrorism, the beauty of the verdant Noida expressway could never be explored by the residents in these ATS Village towers until the ‘terror’ towers were eliminated.
All eyes are now on the future of this newly created space. Hope the good sense prevails among the stakeholders and a well thought prudent planning is done to ensure the space is used best in the interest of the nearby residents. The wish list of the residents is huge – a green cover with recreation facilities like sports complex, a simple café or snacking joint, a beautiful garden and park bedecked with seasonal flowers and the list goes on…
The authorities must now pull up their socks and fulfill these wishes as much as possible that would atone for the sufferings of these residents at least to some extent. Happy living ATS and Supertech towers surrounding this wonder space, after all – A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever!
