A Rouhani Exhibition at princeton by the Khurana

Jaahanvi Khurana of P1B 63 had a good display of various hand-made earrings which she has named Rouhani meaning ‘touching the heart’.

The earrings were very elegant and were handmade by her mother Deepa Khurana, a senior citizen. Each earring is a display of creativity minutely knitted with threads made of Crochet, knitting in a wide range of colours. The danglers and the earrings had undergone delicate and careful workmanship.

Deepa Khurana makes the Crochet earrings while the finishing work s of providing hooks and other screws and stoppers are done by her daughters Jaahanvi and her sister Souniya Khurana. Deepa says that she spends 3 to 4 hours creating a pair of earrings.

Besides earrings, there were handmade colourful Crochet Rakhi bands with a beautiful finish to decorate the wrists of protective brothers. The straps and face of Rakhi were wonderfully prepared and were appealing.

Deepa Khurana had also made elegant cell phone pouches with a long string to hang around the neck. Every item is neatly made with careful and delicate workmanship.

The spectacular colourful bunch of creativity deserves appreciation as lots of hard work and imagination are involved in making those tiny ornaments. Besides it is time-consuming work, showcasing the labour and creativity of the maker. My honest wishes to Mrs Deepa to reach new heights in her creative workmanship.
