A Reference Library & A Cultural Centre

Samay Yaan

Imagine a place where you can pick up a book of love stories from Rajasthan, a book on music from Karnataka, writings of Maharashtra, first person narrations from Kashmir, history of Gujarat, stories from the north-east, Vedic literature and detailed research books on ancient India. Well, there is a place where this imagination comes to life. Samay Yaan is a reference library and a cultural centre, located at RK Puram, Sector 8.

At present, it houses more than 3000 curated books from different regions of India along with the best-sellers of our nation. Spread on two floors, it offers calm and comfortable spaces to settle down with a cup of tea and your favourite book. Samay Yaan hosts regular events around art, culture and near extinct live performances of India. You can collaborate with Samay Yaan and help rediscover our roots through art, literature and culture, helping the roots turn into branches, today.

The use of the library is free for the first 6 months from the date of registration. Get AC environment, cozy comfortable spaces and complimentary tea. One can also bring his or her own books and use the space to study. If you are a performing artist or know one, you can use the ready stage at Samay Yaan for performances. Discussions on art, culture and theatre are welcome too! You can donate books, your suggestions on books and events!

Opened in September ’22, Samay Yaan, started by Justice (Retd) Shiv Narain Dhingra, has already hosted talk shows, storytelling events, musical shows in multiple languages, debates and other events!
