People say that moral values like compassion, love, truthfulness and justice are vanishing day by day and hatred, lust, and selfishness are taking over the human heart. But this is only partially true.
It’s a fact that nowadays a large number of the young generation are more kindhearted and compassionate in comparison to the previous generation. With this change, now they think more about the poor and needy.
In this reference, I want to introduce a little girl from Wellington, a resident of 2 A 25 Saanvi. She is only 11 years old. 6th October 23 was her birthday and her mother was planning for a big birthday party for her friends and was busy making arrangements for that. But she was in for a pleasant shock when Saanvi told her she would not celebrate her birthday with her friends. She instead wanted to celebrate it with underprivileged children, who hardly have any facilities. Saanvi requested her father to find an NGO where she could go and share her birthday cake and other eatables with those children. Her parents searched for an NGO “Sapnon ke Pankh “ where 150 children were living and getting primary education. Saanvi was very excited and went there with her parents and distributed cake, and eatables and gave all of them a notebook also.
When asked who cultivated this thought in her mind, she replied with a smile that some days back a speaker had come to her school and told them about sharing happiness and belonging with others who are deprived of that. She said that the speaker also told that God has given us so much, so we should be grateful to him and pass it on to others generously. In school also, teachers teach the same values.
Saanvi is a student in class 5th at Pathways School. She likes painting, reading books, music and dance.
When she was asked how she felt after her birthday, she said, it was a wonderful experience. Those children were so happy and grateful that she felt this birthday to be her best birthday.
Hats off to those teachers and speakers who are sowing the seed of generosity in a kid’s mind at this tender age.

It was a pleasure to read that a 5 th grader had chosen to celebrate with kids who are underprivileged. Making a group of kids happier gave you great deal of fulfillment. God bless you Saanvi & open the eyes of adults who haven’t reached your level of maturity. Hope you continue to inspire everyone. Thanks.
