March brought an extraordinary milestone to Silver Oaks this year, as the residents commemorated Women’s Day for the very first time. To begin with, this month’s newsletter was published as a special edition dedicated to celebrating the remarkable women of Silver Oaks. The issue highlighted their outstanding contributions, shared their inspiring stories, and recognised their achievements across various disciplines. Later, on 16th of March (initially scheduled for 9th March but later rescheduled) the residents celebrated the International Women’s Day (IWD) as a Musical Evening – a day dedicated to recognising the incredible contributions of countless women who shaped our past, define our present, and continue to inspire our future.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the stage was set for an evening to remember. The community centre’s facade adorned with the gentle glow of twinkling lights, served as an amazing backdrop for the evening’s festivities. Mr. Sanjay Lal (who serves as the Content and Design Head for the Silver Oaks Newsletter) hosted and very skilfully guided the proceedings of the event. Professional singer was sought from outside for performance at this event. The singer’s velvety voice filled the air with rich, melodious, soul-stirring beloved classics from the golden eras of 70s and 80s. Some residents also took to the stage, to share their melodious voices with the attendees. Their performances added a personal touch to the evening. The residents responded enthusiastically to the music, got to their feet, and danced along as the songs were sung. Not only did the singer deliver an exceptional performance, but also went above and beyond by accommodating some song requests from the audience.
With hearts full of gratitude and admiration, some past and present esteemed board members of Silver Oaks, presented certificates of appreciation to around 20 remarkable women whose contributions have made our world a better, and more inspiring place. Little kids alongside the presenters graced the stage with their shy smiles and outstretched arms, and offered small gifts sponsored by Flowers Aura as tokens of recognition. Flowers Aura also presented flowers to the women attendees, a fragrant reminder of their importance in our lives. A surprise “Pick-A-Chit” game was also played and each lucky winner was rewarded with a delightful gift or a 15% discount coupon courtesy of La Belleza Salon (newly opened in Qutub Plaza market). AGEasy Antara was also among the valued sponsors, who contributed to the overall success of this event.
