In a bid to embrace the merriment of the festive season and the diminishing cheery Delhi winters, the community gathered on Saturday, 24 February in the amphitheatre for another memorable musical evening.
While the event provided the music lovers to immerse themselves in soulful melodies, it provided an opportunity for the young minds to mingle before the impending isolation at home, with exams lurking just around the corner.
Fortunate were those who got to witness Anuja Sinha, a versatile playback singer from Mumbai. Her voice, showcased in Bollywood and regional numbers, TV ads, and radio, has earned her acclaim both in India and abroad.
With a foundation at home, Anuja trained extensively under gurus at Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, and Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan from ‘Delhi Gharana’, while securing a formal master’s degree in music from Delhi University.
The evening commenced with our in-house talent presenting duets and solos, setting the stage for Anuja’s enchanting performance. She mesmerized the audience with renditions of timeless classics by Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle, including ‘Rahen na rahe’, ‘Aao huzoor tumko’, ‘Lag Jaa gale’, ‘Do lafzon ki’ and many more.
As the evening unfolded, Anuja showcased her versatility with peppy and emotional songs, delivering each with sincerity and passion. Collaborating with Alok ji and other performers, she created an electric atmosphere that resonated with the audience in the amphitheatre and residents cheering from their balconies.
The evening provided an enchanting musical experience, complemented by the lip-smacking delicacies offered at various stalls – a delightful tradition at all events.
