A Multifaceted Janmashtami Celebration in DLF Phase 2

The spirit of Janmashtami reverberated throughout DLF Phase 2 this year, with residents coming together to celebrate in various ways, each with its unique charm.

DLF 2 bore witness to heartwarming Janmashtami celebrations that transcended boundaries, as underprivileged children from Bachpanshala and Niswarth Seva Foundation came together to revel in the spirit of Lord Krishna’s birth. Nandita Chopra, supported by volunteers Arav Chablani and Zaara Minotra, orchestrated a memorable event at Bachpanshala. Laughter filled the air as the children successfully broke the Dahi Handi, revealing a treasure trove of goodies. The day continued with awe-inspiring performances, delectable food, and refreshing beverages. Nandita also fostered creativity by organizing mukut-making classes, ensuring the little ones were well-prepared for Janmashtami. Meanwhile, at the Niswarth Seva Foundation, Sapana Sehrawat led a vibrant celebration. The kids showcased their talents with spirited performances and indulged in scrumptious treats, embodying the true essence of togetherness.

In M-13 Park, young residents celebrated Janmashtami with a creative twist. Charu Kapoor, a resident and young mom, organized a Matki Painting activity. Children painted beautiful matkis with their creativity and listened to Krishna’s stories. Goodie bags and a symbolic Dahi Handi breaking added to the fun. The kids posed with their beautifully decorated matkis, danced to Krishna’s bhajans, and relished the spirit of the festival.

These diverse celebrations underscored the unity and community spirit in DLF Phase 2, making this Janmashtami a memorable and vibrant occasion for all.

Janmashtami Celebration at Gauri Shankar Mandir, DLF Phase 2: by Malvika Saini:

Residents experienced the magic of Janmashtami at Gauri Shankar Mandir in the late hours for the first time. The lane leading to the temple was festooned with parked cars and guarded entrances, dispelling any safety concerns. Festive vibes filled the air as people of all ages, dressed in traditional attire, congregated. Inside, a live telecast of bhajans from the Pooja hall ensured everyone could participate. Devotees, both young and old, joined in singing and clapping, creating an atmosphere of devotion. The highlight was the Krishna Abhishek ceremony, where Lord Krishna was bathed in milk and curd, and everyone had the opportunity to give the idol a gentle swing. The festivities continued until the early hours, with Radhe-Krishna greetings and Prasad packets for all.
