In the heart of our community, amidst the vibrant colors of blooming daffodils, the spirit of Christmas resonates with unparalleled enthusiasm. This year’s festivities were marked by an enchanting celebration that blended the joy of the season with the rhythm of line dancing, all under the able guidance of our illustrious teacher, friend, and guide, Monica Bhasin. For many years now, Monica has been the driving force behind our collective journey into the world of line dance. Her teaching style is nothing short of magical — the way she swirls and moves, reminiscent of a graceful butterfly. Her every movement is a dance in itself, soft and elegant. Beyond her dancing prowess, Monica is a great friend and motivator, embodying warmth, care, and generosity. In our dance class, she not only imparts skill but infuses energy, ensuring an atmosphere that is forever positive and appreciative. The Christmas celebration this year unfolded in the charming residence of Meenakshi Sehgal, Principal of Modern School, nestled within the beautiful campus of Vasant Vihar. The anticipation was palpable as all the ladies arrived punctually, dressed in festive hues of white and red. Giggles and chatter filled the air as everyone looked forward to an evening of dance, camaraderie, and delectable homemade treats. At precisely 3:30pm the dance class commenced, and under Monica’s guidance, everyone swayed and twirled to enchanting tunes for a delightful hour. The dance floor echoed with laughter and the sheer joy of movement. Following this invigorating session, it was time to transition to the next phase of the celebration — the much-anticipated party. Meenakshi’s residence became a haven of festivity, adorned with the aroma of homemade goodies contributed by the attendees. From chole kulche to pav bhaji, black forest cake to samosas, the spread was a testament to the diverse culinary talents within our community. The delightful garden provided the perfect backdrop, buzzing with the sounds of birds and the infectious laughter of line dancers. In the words of Rolee Srinath, a participant in our festive revelry, “We have so much to be grateful for: for a band of friends who are forever generous, to Mona for whom we will always put our best foot forward (literally), to Meenakshi for hosting us in her beautiful home, to Neha for the arrangements and the thoughtful gifts (Dil to baccha hai ji), and the festive season which brings cheer and joy and so much food to indulge in.” As we bid adieu to another year, our hearts resonate with gratitude for the bonds we share, the joy we’ve experienced, and the memories we’ve created. The celebration was not just about dancing or feasting; it was a testament to the enduring spirit of friendship and community that makes our gatherings truly special.
