Even an introvert like me has come to enjoy the Holi celebration at ATS One Hamlet. The chance to meet a wide cross section of Hamletians, to smear gulaal on each other, to spray friends & neighbours with (coloured) water, to dance unabashedly to the DJ’s tunes, & to cool down sitting in the garden – what’s there to not like?
2023 Holi was organized in the amphitheatre & the surrounding gardens. The central circle of the amphitheatre is still under renovation & was cordoned off but that didn’t stop residents from dancing around it.
The DJ belted out Holi songs to which all ages grooved. Such a fab sight to see the elderly enjoying! Children, in the meanwhile, were busy Playing! The garden hose was turned into a water source that was being splashed on friends & strangers alike. The rush to fill buckets was amusing.
We used the farther off gardens to meet & greet, & to set up impromptu picnics. The camaraderie was glorious! A couple of food stalls had been put up at the skating rink. I could smell the aroma of pizzas but, I didn’t get a chance to sample these. There’s always the next year!!
With the colours thrown up, Hamletians renewed their cordiality. See you in 2024!!
