A Grand Dussehra Celebration at Lotus Boulevard

Lotus Boulevard celebrated the nine-day festival of Dussehra with three equally impressive events: Mata ki Chowki, Dandiya Night and Ram Leela.

Mata ki Chowki was held on Thursday, 19 October, in the central park. There was a slight variation in the celebration of Mata ki Chowki this year. Along with the normal bhajans, there were dances and enactments of gods and goddesses by the resident dancers.

Everyone who attended the event gave an encouraging and positive feedback.

The next grand event organised by the cultural committee was the Dandiya Night on Sunday, 22 October. Since this coincided with a crucial cricket match, which would have kept many glued to their television sets, a unique challenge, of engaging all the members of the family, presented itself!

This was resolved by setting up a large screen for the cricket enthusiasts, a kids’ play area with swings, rides and activities at reasonable prices was arranged, along with arrangements for residents to play the Dandiya.

This left everyone happy and in a festive mood.

Dussehra was celebrated on Sunday, 22 October. It involved a home production of the Ram Leela scripted, directed, produced and enacted by the residents. The adorable kids comprising the Ravan and Hanuman Sena, stole everyone’s hearts.

Food stalls selling high quality items at reasonable rates were put up for residents and guests alike. MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma graced the occasion. In his short address, he appreciated the involvement and skill of the Lotus Boulevard residents and added that Lotus Boulevard was one of the best residential societies of Noida, well-managed by the AOA Board and residents!
