MB Ladies Club Enjoy A Picnic
To cash in on Delhi’s pleasant weather, a rarity nowadays, the MB Ladies Club enjoyed a picnic in the lush environs of Vinay Jain’s farm. Tucked away on the out skirts of Dera Mandi, this majestic farmhouse overlooks a massive expanse of green hemmed in by a wide variety of fruits and trees like plum, cherry, apple, lokhat, chikoo, and mango, some of them blooming to glory! The ducks waddling past and the most unusual flirtation of a peahen with a local fiery red cockerel are a sight to behold.
The perfectly manicured lawns, the symmetry, and the colour combination of the flower beds show the prolific talent of the master artist Vinay. She tells us of the endless research and hard work that have gone into this beautiful haven she has created for her family and friends to enjoy.
The food was an epicure’s delight. Besides other snacks, we gorged on the luscious strawberries and fresh vegetables under the clear blue sky, which seemed more vibrant somehow. The lunch table was carefully arranged with flowers and “chaat” savouries of all descriptions.
With great reluctance, we bid adieu to Vinay, and not before we brought home a taste of her farm – “a box of fresh strawberries”.
