My father is a veteran air warrior, 93 years old. He is an engineer and, in the Indian Air force was an armaments expert ,i.e specialist in the bombs and missiles which arm our fighter aircraft. Having seen action in the 1962 ,1965 and 1971 wars he was tasked with blowing up the airfield in Tezpur in 1962 , the last man , if and when the Chinese reached there during the Sino Indian conflict in the north eastern front. Fortunately it never came to that and the Chinese withdrew In 1965 he was in the western sector ,in undisclosed locations near Amritsar And in 1971 ,in our war with Pakistan again, he was in charge of inspection of air armaments in Khamaria.
Serving the country in various capacities he retired as an Air Marshal and was awarded the Ati vishisht seva madal by the President of India We are extremely proud of his service and privileged that he has made his home with us.
