It’s 6 am and the sun is already way up in the sky. Kids, men and women are vying for a place in the queue as all roads in Emerald Court lead to the ‘POOL’ – an integral part of the Central Park.
It’s a paddler’s delight. Having been a gold medalist in local pools growing up as a kid and later a regular in IAF stations pools, post marriage, I could easily adapt to this beautiful acqa gem snuggling in the centre of our condo. But of late, since my health status remained a bit fragile, I would only enjoy the kiddy pool, much to the amusement of the kids splashing around.
Two days back, as I stepped out on my way to the pool my kid sister called up. When she learned of my plan of ‘muddying the waters’ of the kiddy pool, she sternly ticked me off, “Baby, I don’t want to hear anything about the kiddy pool business… just enter the main adult pool.”
Encouraged and egged on by the sis, I did..!! A ginger slow lap and I was back in my element which lasted for all of 30 minutes non-stop. Emerging unwillingly from this acqa gem I immediately called up my sister and exclaimed “I was in the big pool”. She said jubilantly, “You are so cool, my brave sister.” And I’ve resolved to remain cool for the remainder of this blistering summer.
