VarikshaRopan Samiti is the first to organize Shram Daan Programme at any Park in Delhi. Prior to this, no one took this initiative. The members of VarikshaRopan bought tools required for such job Brooms, Scrapers, Trash Pullers, Khurpis, Phavadas, Pipes, Sacks etc. of their own and came to the park before the given time of 8 O’clock on Sun 2nd April. The other party organized Tea and Snacks. More than ten items were on the table. The seating arrangements were personally done by them, no labour was involved, since the weather was perfect and enthusiasm was full, so it went on very well. Banners were displayed in the colony so people came from Jullena, Bharat Nagar, Khijrabad and delivered their best. The Councillor Rajpal arrived with his team to help the park. He praised this move and thanked Variksha Ropan Samiti’s efforts, he also assured us to carry this work to other aeras of colonies for larger benefit of residents. Samiti members expressed the desire to do it again and again and invited more people to offer such services. If, residents in good number had come then the morale of participants may have been enlarged, after all it for the community only. The Nature gives a lot of things for livelihood but a man is so much un- thankful, he cannot keep them intact.
