In a heart-wrenching incident on Christmas Day, a child fell victim to a hit-and-run accident, resulting in severe leg injuries. The child’s mother, who works as a cook, received invaluable help from her employers Mr. Devender Singh and Mrs. Parul Singh who are residents of E Block Sector 41 Noida. They both stepped forward and helped the poor child proving that not all Santas wear red suits.
The incident occurred in Barola Village, where a reckless driver struck the child and fled the scene, leaving the young victim in agony. Moved by the tragedy, Mr and Mrs Singh promptly offered assistance, taking the injured child to the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi for urgent medical attention. As the child undergoes treatment and begins the journey towards recovery, this story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of compassion, community, and the crucial role that employers can play in providing timely assistance to their employees in times of need. It also underscores the need for stricter measures to prevent hit-and-run incidents and ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially children.
As the holiday season continues, may this story inspire others to embrace the true spirit of Christmas, reminding us that sometimes, the most meaningful gifts are those that come from the heart.
Samvada Adds: Sadly, rash driving continues in Noida despite the changed motor vehicle Act. As individual citizens, we often ask and demand our rights from government and administrative bodies but do we not realise that we too have duties to follow especially when we are driving two or four-wheelers in any city or village? We need to follow these rules strictly. As a driver, one must be aware of the traffic rules and the possible penalties for their violation. The ever-growing traffic volume on Indian roads makes it challenging for the traffic authorities to maintain order. So, you must drive responsibly to ensure the safety of all.
As per law under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code, any person who drives or rides a vehicle in any public way recklessly endangering human life or injuring others would face legal consequences. One should never drive under the influence of alcohol, as this may endanger their life and the lives of many others. While driving a two-wheeler, one must put on their protective headgear for safety and to avoid a challan of ¹ 1000. Skipping a red light now attracts a penalty of ¹ 1000. Cell phone use is prohibited under Section 184C of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
Overspeeding endangers one’s life and the lives of other road users. So, one must drive their vehicle within the specified speed limits.
