Resident Catches NA Man Taking Pictures
Samvada News Bureau
Recently, a resident reached out to Samvada to inform them that they found a man taking pictures of the house and, naturally concerned about security issues, raised an alarm. They, along with a few neighbours, were able to confront the man. The man, according to the resident, said that he was taking pictures of the ‘violations’ by the residents and that the resident should contact a specific RWCS member. It turned out that the said resident, whose house is near a local block market, was tired of not being able to park outside his house and had put up chains to cordon off the area. The violations cited were the cordoning off of the area as well as a small garden outside the boundary wall. The RWCS member, when contacted, denied sending the man to take pictures. The said man turned out to have been sent by the JE of the NOIDA Authority, who had received complaints about the chained area as others were unable to park there. The identity of the complainant has not been revealed. The resident has pointed out that they are not the only ones who are guilty of these violations, as many residents in the sector have grown plants and trees outside their houses, extended their driveways, and cordoned off areas for parking their vehicles.
In our sector, parking battles are a daily affair. Talk to any resident, and they cringe at the thought of having to hunt for a parking spot outside their house at the end of the day. This is specifically true for those whose residences are located near commercial centres in the sector, which were built; it seems, without taking into account a specific parking area for visitors’ vehicles. The rows of cars parked outside residences and lack of indoor parking have led to congestion at all hours – even at weekends. Finding a parking spot even during the day has become an impossible task. One sees residents resorting to all sorts of measures to emerge triumphant in the Battle of Parking Spots, from yelling at each other to puncturing cars, to blocking cars to reserving spots to even getting cars towed away.
One wonders when a solution will be found. It should be noted that Sector 26 was promised a parking lot in 2016 and this was widely reported in leading newspapers too. At that time, the RWCS requested NOIDA Authority to convert plot E-3 into a parking lot.
