RTI Act 2005 was a key contributor in the collection of main documentary evidences to represent and argue case in the High Court and Supreme Court for get-ting justice. Supertech Emerald Court residents celebrated Vijay Diwas on 19 October in appreciation of the historic success and safe demolition of twin towers. This was possible by the information collected under Right to Information Act.
Attempts were made by builder and authorities for not providing information seeking various excuses. However because of the RTI Act residents were able to get information and utilise the same. Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court, while delivering judgements, mentioned the same.
Under this Act main documentary evidences collected were: Building maps sanctioned to builder at various stages; No- validity of structure certificate received from Associate Professor of Roorkee IIT was submitted by the builder Supertech with Noida Authority; Information pertaining to cancelled Fire NOC and other Non-Compliances; Illegal Partial Completion Certificates issued to builder without fullfilment of Mandatory Compliance requirements; Note sheets of Authority’s on actions by taken by Noida Authority and Fire Department on emails and letters sent by residents and ECORWA .
Some details about RTI ACT: The Right to Information Act 2005 was created by the Parliament of India which sets out the Rules and Procedures regarding Citizens’ right to information. It replaced the former Freedom of Information Act, 2002.
Commenced on 12 October 2005, this law empowers Indian citizens to seek any accessible information from a Public Authority and makes the Government and its functionaries more accountable and responsible.
The basic object of the Right to Information Act is to empower the citizens, promote transparency and accountability in the working system of the Government, contain corruption, and make our democratic System work for the people in real sense.
Conclusion: Supertech ECORWA members and residents’ incredible contribution is consistently pushing the bar of harmonious living and celebrations.
