The Vibrant Shades of Chathh

The Chhatth pooja was organised in various societies of the Sector. The devotees love this festival because of it’s environment friendly way of celebration. All seasonal and all time fruits like, banana, apple, orange, coconut, khachha haldi, sugarcane, singhara, sweet lime etc. are offered. No ready made sweets but only home made ‘Thekua’ is offered. Only Soop and daura (basket) made of raw bamboo stick is used even in this era of plastic. Prasaad is mainly cooked in brass or copper utensils or in earthen pots. People of all walks of life comes in open near a river, pond or any water body and celebrate it together.
