Open Defecation, Encroachment & Lack of Basic Amenities @75

The misery, anguish, helplessness and despair are the few words that best describe the general mood of the residents of sector 75 when no heed is paid to their com-plaints. The residents have been struggling for basic civic amenities ever since the Sector came into being. The entire sector, which is densely populated with so many high rises, lacks basic amenities such as proper road communication, footpaths, streetlights, green belts and traffic control measures etc. This deprivation causes the residents enormous inconvenience to their day-to-day life and still no one from the civic agency, developer, local MLA or MP heeds to their grievances.
They complain that the plots were allotted to a consortium of developers of the above high rises. The responsibility to develop roads, green belts and installation of lights also lies with them. But they are not paying heed to these issues despite voices being raised by the respective societies against this anomaly in the sector.
In the name of greenery and green belts – which are supposed to be the lungs of a residential area, a vast stretch of land was left. This zone is yet to see any greenery but has already fallen into the vicious trap of different kinds of encroachments. Recently the green belt area between plots 8, 9,10 and 11 had gotten rid of the jhuggis but a new problem has now surfaced. The area has become an open defecation spot. However unbelievable and revolting it may sound but is true.
There has been so much of unauthorised commercial construction in and around Apex Athena society. It is alleged that there is a dispute between the builder and the seller ;so while the case is pending the unauthorised construction is thriving commercially. Construction of the long-awaited connecting road (about 30 meters) Sector 75 to 76 adjoining Indosam 75 to Supertech Capetown in the second week of October ’22 seemed to be a good sign. But that has come with its own set of issues which have not been addressed or foreseen. The drainage system on both sides of the road is not connected to the main sewage line. Garbage dumping around the proposed road is a long pending issue despite several communications with Noida Authority. The green belt in front of Indosam Society has popped up with brick-mortar shops, restaurants and places for all kinds of activities – not supposed to be in a green belt.
Such living conditions harm the dwellers, especially because no one pays heed to any complaints. The need of the hour, for the residents of Sector 75 is to have a collective presence in the form of a common RWA. The civic agencies or local MLA/ MP may ignore individual issues but the collective voice of thousands of people cannot go unheard.
